The Shelly Bay Master Plan sets out to create a unique waterfront destination for Wellington. Drawing on its military and cultural heritage and embracing the water’s edge and hills, Shelly Bay will become a place of special retreat, a place to live and work, and to interact with the natural environment.
MU was part of a multi-disciplinary team that included Architecture +, Wa, TDG and The Property Group. The highly sensitive landscape setting of the bay coupled with the mixed use and higher density housing programme required detailed modelling, testing and honest critique to achieve balanced outcomes.
MU wrote the Shelly Bay Design Guide that formed part of the Resource Consent Application.
